MYO 2004 Awards Ceremony -- November 2004

After being rain delayed twice, the weather played along and we finally had time to have our annual prize giving on Saturday the 13th November. The proceedings started with Alta thanking all the volunteers who helped out during the year with the extra coaching on Tuesdays and Saturdays. A special thanks was given to Mrs. Ushi Fahrbach who helps with the transport. Without the contributions of these people a lot of the success would not have been possible and the kids thanked them by singing a song for them.

Prizes were then handed out to players for best and good attendance. The best boys and girls u/10 players, the best boys and girls u/8 players as well as the player of the year awards were also handed out. The names of the 21 players who will get scholarship next year and move to the next level of the program were also announced. Afterwards, snacks and drinks were enjoyed by everyone.

Although it was the last day for the year, the kids were assured that the tennis will continue next year, not only for the group of 21 players identified but also for the dedicated ones who continued to come to practice although they did not get picked for teams or groups. Provision has been made for them by having Saturdays next year as open days were anyone can come to play.

A great time was experienced by everyone and a lot of happy and very proud faces left to go home.
