MYO I-Dare-You Tennis Tournament -- 24 July 2004 The I-Dare-You tennis tournament was the brain child of the Coastal Tennis Sub-union, a organization at the coast who promotes and organize junior tennis and junior tournaments for the National Tennis Association at the coast. In order to support the work being done by MYO they approached the Swakopmund Tennis Club, The Swakopmund Tennis Academy and MYO to raise money for a development fund. The rules of the competition stated that a junior player from the Swakopmund Tennis Academy must challenge an adult from the local club. If the youngster won, the adult had to pay N$50 towards the fund. If the youngster lost, he or she did not have to pay anything. The players from the MYO program were also invited and during the lunch break they had the opportunity to play not only with each other, but with the kids from the Swakopmund Tennis Academy and some of the adults who were not too tired. It also gave the adults an opportunity to see some of the kids, who will most probably benefit from their contribution, in action. Everybody had a great time and a grand total of N$1150 was raised. This was made possible by some adult players donating N$50 even though they have won. It was great to witness the contribution of different generations as well as different parts of a community to such a worthy cause.
