Mondesa Youth Opportunities is proud to announce our Youth
Sponsorship Program. This program has the dual benefit of providing
direct assistance to the children in our program, as well as
bringing the reality of the every day lives of our children closer
to you.
100% of the money donated through the Youth Sponsorship Program will
directly benefit the children of MYO. These expenses include:
- Salaries of our teachers in Namibia
- Housing and food costs for our volunteer(s) in Namibia
- Transport costs for the children
- Classroom rental and schoolbook purchases
- Food for the children
These funds ARE NOT used to pay for salaries to board members or any
MYO staff outside of Namibia, administrative costs outside of
Namibia, travel costs for MYO staff or volunteers, marketing
brochures or fundraising activities, website administration or
maintenance, or any other cost not directly benefiting the children
in Namibia.
Costs are expressed here in US
Dollars, but we also accept PayPal subscriptions or checks in
Australian dollars or Euros.
Cost to sponsor a child in our
program is US $15/month and we request a 12 month obligation.
Payments options are as follows:

MasterCard or Visa using PayPal

(semi-annual) via PayPal followed by a second payment of $90 in 6

1. Does my money go only to pay for
my adopted child? No. The money for this program is deposited into
our operating fund which is used to pay for goods and services
directly benefiting all the children enrolled in our program.
2. Does a child have more than 1
sponsor? Yes, potentially. Donations from sponsors are pooled to
meet the operational needs for all our program members. We do this
because there is no practical way for us to separate the needs of
individual participants.
3. How is Mondesa Youth
Opportunities different from other programs like WorldVision, CARE or
Save the Children? Every NGO or charity has a specific charter and
set of operational guidelines and objectives. At MYO, we believe what
sets us apart from other charities is our narrow focus on a specific
community, our fervent commitment to spending your donations with the
utmost integrity and consideration, and our comprehensive approach to
youth development.
Also, our program works with children
over many years, mentoring them in life-skills, academics and whole
body fitness, which we feel provides the best possible opportunity to
break the cycle of poverty. We have no desire to grow to a size where
we have high administration costs, nor do we distract ourselves by
trying to tackle all the problems Africa is facing. Our programs are
already proving successful and we are making a difference in Mondesa.
4. Can I make a special request?
Absolutely! We encourage you to call one of our board members or
e-mail the information link and we will answer all your questions. We
are flexible and will entertain any type of special request that
allows us to move our programs forward and get you more engaged and
interested in our programs.
