|  | | |  | | Name: | Engelhardt #Unaeb (music teacher) | | Engelhardt #Unaeb is an aspiring choral conductor from Swakopmund, Namibia. He is the assistant conductor of the Mascato Youth Choir where he works under the inspiring wing of Ena Venter and has been singing since he was 14 years old. He has a sound recording engineering diploma from the Conservatory of Sound Recording and Sciences Arizona, USA. He has sung with the Kokopelli Choir of Canada for six months and also gave some workshops on Namibian choral music. He currently conducts and aids primary and high school choirs in Swakopmund.He has been working for MYO since 2008 teaching recorder, djembe(drum) , dance and choir. |

It is also Welerie who does a beautiful job to keep our facilities clean. She has a positive outlook to everything - and she makes an excellent split pea soup! |

One of the first things our guests notice on their visits to our facilities is the beautifully maintained garden and grounds. Moses takes great pride in his work and you will often find him combing sand and pruning flowers while humming a tune. |

 | | |  | | Name: | Jenni Kuosmanen (sports & library teacher) | | Jenni is from Kuopio, Finland and has her degree in physiotherapy. Jenni has been living in Namibia since March 2009. She joined MYO in October 2009 to teach sports and library skills. The MYO kids have totally impressed her with their cleverness and kindness. In her spare time, Jenni enjoys working on agility training with her dogs on the beach. |

|  | | |  | | Name: | Sue Wagner (English & Reading Teacher) | | Joining MYO in 2010, Sue Wagner holds a B.A. in English and Physical Education as well as Post Graduate Diplomas in Teaching, Personnel Administration and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Sue’s experience includes pre-primary through high school level teaching. She has taught in state and private schools in South Africa, Namibia and Swaziland. In addition, Sue has vast administrative/ managerial experience. In her spare time, Sue enjoys walking, jogging, camping, game viewing and bird watching. Sue believes that “Enthusiasm is infectious” and has been described as someone who is “always looking for the next adventure.” |

Employed in various PR and management related fields, Kathleen has always enjoyed working with people of all ages and backgrounds. She has always seen the importance of a good education and is excited to join the MYO team in 2010.

 | | |  | | Name: | Kijafa Idalliah (Life Skills Teacher) | | Kijafa grew up in Austin, Texas and attended Cal State University Northridge in Los Angeles, California. She received a BA in History and a Masters in Public Administration. Following graduation, Kijafa applied to the United States Peace Corps to gain work experiences, learn about another culture, and see the world. Kijafa joins the MYO staff as a Peace Corps Health volunteer in April 2010. She teaches life skills, HIV/AIDS preventions and healthy living. When she returns to the US, she intends on pursuing a PhD in public policy and development, and then a career in the nonprofit sector. |

|  | | |  | | Name: | Lorna E. Davis (Computer Teacher) | | Lorna was born in North Wales, and despite living many years away from the homeland remains, loyally Welsh. Concerned with community issues since childhood, Lorna has worked on a voluntary basis for many organisations, initially, St.Johns Ambulance Brigade, Womens Institute and the Girl Guide Association.
In Zambia, Lorna assisted with teaching of English at the local schools and ran a childcare facility.
Based in Namibia since 1980, Lorna has been a committee member of CHAIN (Children with Handicaps Action In Namibia).
Many years of work with computers in the commercial sector led to research into operating systems which were more practical and affordable for the people of Namibia.
Having tested many distributions of Linux, it was decided that Edubuntu was the best operating system option for MYO.
Ubuntu is an African word meaning humanity to others. |
