Name:Vera Leech
Vera Leech is a trustee and board member of Mondesa Youth Opportunities Trust, having first become involved with the Trust about 5 years ago. Education is important to Vera – she is a trained teacher, who qualified in Zimbabwe and she has been involved with education for almost 40 years now. Vera majored in English which has served her well – the continent of Africa is in desperate need of experienced English teachers who are committed to their work. She and her husband immigrated to Namibia almost 30 years ago, and they have loved this country from the first moment. Here here they have lived happily with their two children, loving the land, the people and the lifestyle. Namibia is one of Africa’s jewels. Education is the key to success, and we try to impress that on our learners. MYO opens a door to a better, more informed life and she is proud to be part of it.
Name:Uschi Fahrbach
Uschi Fahrbach was born in 1949 in Swakopmund and matriculated in 1967 in Windhoek. She joined Barclays Bank and worked for 9 years in Windhoek, Swakopmund and at Barclays International in Hamburg, Germany. She married in 1975 and joined the family retail business, managing the Gift Department for 20 years. Through her daughters’ participation in the Swakopmund Tennis Academy and in the Youth Orchestra, she served on these committees for many years and assisted Alta Myburgh when she started the MYO Tennis Programme in 2004. Since then Uschi has been involved in Administration and Public Relations, serving as a Board Member since 2008 and she enjoyed developing the Music Department with the assistance of donors and volunteer music teachers.
Name:Robert Myres - Founder
Rob is a writer and entrepreneur living in Southern Idaho with his wife September. Rob founded MYO in 2003 after spending a year Namibia as a volunteer teacher with WorldTeach.

Name:Elron B. Awase
Born in Otjiwarongo, Elron B. Awase (Benni) grew up in Arandis and attended high school in Windhoek. After completing his studies in South Africa, Benni has been working within Namibia’s energy industry since 2003. He is currently self-employed in Walvis Bay. Benni has been a supporter of MYO and its mission from the start and joined the board of directors in 2009.
